Al Green - Discography

Al Green

Reverend Albert Green (born April 13 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas) is an American Grammy award winning soul and gospel singer who enjoyed great popularity in the 70s with hit singles such as "Let's Stay Together", Tired of Being Alone", and "You Oughta Be With Me". Al has boasted a voice capable of both fluid high streams of sugar and deep south growls and rasps. He has sold over 20 million records worldwide, and he was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, being referred to as "one of the most gifted purveyors of soul music."
Such beautiful songs be Al and such a lovely voice.

These are some of the finest soul albums released, especially the early to mid-70s ones. Magnificent in what I call their complex simplicity.

I think Ann Peebles may have used the same band, as her stuff was very similar from around that early 70s period.

Yes I agree, again.
The mid seventies were my favourites also.

Al Green.. great singer.. great songs.. great production from Hi Records. His style and sound covered a lot of musical ground and even got him thru those disco years with ease. Thank you for adding him here.

Also, really HUGE thanks for going back to adding the years on albums and putting them in chronological order and for the quality cover pics!!

Yes he certainly was a great singer mrRadio, I truly enjoyed his stuff, obviously :-)
Placing the years etc on albums is extra work, however it is good for people like yourself [and me] to see those great years of music listed chronologically.

Thanks for the Al Green upload. I wonder as a gesture of appreciation. I too would like to share some of my cd sets to you. There are Chess Records (14 cd), Cameo Parkway(4 cd), Soul hits of the 70's(20 cds), superhits of the 70's (25 cds), if you would like, I can share a google drive link to you. I don't own a blog. So, the only way I can share is by sharing a link. Cheerio.
